Elderly held over ‘attempt to rape’ in Gazipur

A 65-year-old man was arrested for his alleged involvement in attempting to violate a schoolgirl in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila.

The arrestee was identified as Moselm Uddin, a resident of Maizpara village in the upazila.
Confirming the matter, Sreepur Police Station officer-in-charge Joynal Abedin Mandal said that Moselm took a schoolgirl near his home and tried to violate the girl on Wednesday.

Hearing her screams, locals caught him red-handed and beat him up before handing him over to the police .

A case has been lodged in this connection, the OC added.
