A mild heat wave is currently sweeping over the Rajshahi and Sirajganj regions, though the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has indicated that it is likely to subside soon.
The BMD also forecasted that rains or thunder showers, accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally winds, are expected at one or two locations across the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Hail may occur at isolated places during the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today.
BMD meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik stated that the weather across most parts of the country will remain mainly dry, with a partly cloudy sky in some areas, reports BSS.
Dr. Mallik also predicted a slight decrease in daytime temperatures, while nighttime temperatures may experience a slight rise over the country during this period.
The highest temperature recorded on Wednesday was 36.3°C at Baghabari in Rajshahi, while the minimum temperature today was 14.2°C at Rajarhat in Rangpur.
In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:10 pm today and rise at 6:02 am tomorrow.
