Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has directed the police force to start preparations to ensure a peaceful election.
In a statement on the Facebook page Chief Adviser GOB, Prof Yunus said he gave the directive during a meeting today (19 March) with the home affairs adviser and other officials, according to the Chief Adviser's press wing.
To improve the welfare of police personnel, the chief adviser has directed authorities to take immediate steps on several key issues including the removal of the existing ceiling on risk allowances.
Additionally, to improve mobility, he ordered the procurement of 364 new pickups and 140 prisoner transport vans, strengthening law enforcement operations.
Other directives include releasing funds for unfinished police construction projects to accelerate their completion.
Addressing infrastructure needs, the chief adviser allocated funds for acquiring land for 65 police stations currently in rented buildings.
