Eid means joy, festival, and the urge to meet with loved ones. Millions of people from the country rush from the city to the village to celebrate Eid with their relatives. However, the travel to these homes is associated with the challenge of various types of security. People have to return home by dealing with various risks, including traffic, road accidents, overcrowded boats and railways, ticket black markets, and theft. Therefore, it is a big challenge for the administration, law enforcement, and transport authorities to ensure the safe and comfortable travel of passengers. However, it is possible to deal with this challenge by using the right planning and technology, which can ensure a comfortable Eid journey for passengers. It is not only the responsibility of the government and law enforcers to ensure the safety of Eid-ul-Fitr, but it is the responsibility of all of us. To ensure a safe journey, we all have to come forward together, only then will the joy of the festival be fulfilled.

This time, in different countries of the world, especially in the name of Eid-ul-Fitr, the travel of people puts huge pressure on the communication system. However, how safe the transport will be depends on various infrastructure and administrative management. By analyzing the image and experience of transport safety, we can see that Eid-ul-Fitr can be safe with advanced management.

In the context of Bangladesh, it is said that Eid-ul-Fitr faces a huge challenge. Every year, billions of people return to villages from the capital Dhaka and other major cities, causing a huge crowd on railways, roads, and highways. So, a safe Eid is a big challenge for the people of Bangladesh. Roads, waterways, and railways experience huge passenger pressure, traffic, accidents, and ticket crises, causing misery.

Although the government and the concerned agencies have taken various steps to ensure security, effective implementation is often questionable. Road repairs, ensuring the fitness of vehicles, development of traffic management, and law enforcement agencies have been enhanced, but every time, some weakness remains. Therefore, the awareness of passengers and the proper coordination of authorities can ensure a safe Eid.

Eid brings the highest pressure on the roads of Bangladesh. Various vehicles, including buses, microbuses, trucks, and motorcycles, increase the risk of traffic congestion and accidents. Due to the lack of renovation of many highways, there are problems with the movement of vehicles. Excessive crowds cause long traffic congestion due to passenger vehicles. Many carry extra passengers and drive hurriedly, increasing the risk of accidents. Additionally, the use of unauthorized transport, such as trucks, lagunas, and auto-rickshaws, further increases the security risks.

Although the railway is relatively safer, the ticket crisis and the additional passenger burden become a major problem. Many people travel on the roofs of trains, which is extremely dangerous. Furthermore, the low number of trains often prevents passengers from reaching their desired destinations. In the southern part of Bangladesh, the waterway plays an important role during Eid. However, accidents are often caused by additional passengers, unfit launches, and defective management. Frequently, more passengers are carried than the capacity of the launches, which is one of the reasons for sinking.

Before Eid, it is necessary to ensure the renovation of important highways. The highway police, railway police, and naval police should be activated to strengthen security measures. Controlling illegal vehicles, including the development of a signaling system in traffic management, is essential. Passengers should be encouraged not to take extra risks, such as riding on the roof of a train or overloading launches. Above all, drivers need to be trained and cautioned. Experts have highlighted that communication system weaknesses, traffic, and accidents occur due to the lack of proper conditions of highways and inter-district roads. Additionally, the number of adequate quality buses is lower than needed, increasing the risk of passenger pressure and security issues. Reckless driving, non-fitness vehicles, and disregard for traffic rules are the main causes of road accidents.

Sustainable development and maintenance of highways and inter-district roads must be ensured. The number of trains and buses should be increased and improved so that additional passenger pressure can be handled. Strict enforcement of traffic rules, measures against non-fitness vehicles, and ensuring driver training are essential. Volunteers should be appointed before Eid if necessary. By taking these steps, it is possible to make the journey of people back home during Eid safer.

Finally, the government, transport owners, drivers, and the general public must all come together to secure the Eid journey. By taking planned steps from transport management of developed countries, it is possible to make the travel of home-bound people safe and seamless.
