Police have recovered the body of a man, son-in-law, under mysterious circumstances from his in-law's house at Taltali upazila in Barguna district.

The deceased was identified as Aynal Molla, 50, a resident of Tatipara village in Nishan Baria union under the upazila.

The body was recovered from the house of Mostafa Hawlader at Daksin Kabirajpara area of Sonakata union in the upazila around 3:00PM on Wednesday.

According to locals, Aynal was married to Mila Begum, daughter of Mostafa, about 20 years ago. In 2018, Mila went to Saudi Arabia. Three years later, Aynal married another woman named Mukta in Bagerhat.

Upon learning about her husband's second marriage, Mila returned home about a year ago. Since then, there were several altercations between the husband, his first family and his in-laws.

Billal Molla, the deceased's brother, stated that his brother was beaten by his in-laws family members on Tuesday. The very next day, locals spoted the victim's body in front of the house and informed him.

However, denying the allegation of murder, Mila claimed that her husband committed suicide.

Taltali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Shahjalal said that the body was recovered upon receiving the news and sent to Barguna General Hospital for autopsy.

Further legal actions would be taken upon receiving complaint in this regard, the OC added.
