The name of the capital's Chandrima Udyan has been officially changed back to Zia Udyan.

This decision was made public through a notification issued by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works on Wednesday.
The site, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, here is known as the burial place of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder and former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, and its previous name has now been reinstated.

Signed by Naila Ahmed, joint secretary of the ministry, the notification referenced to Article 12.3 of the Advisory Council's meeting in the Cabinet Division, which authorized the restoration of the previous name "Zia Udyan" to replace the changed name "Chandrima Udyan".
