Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar has called for the establishment of a "just, scientific, and technology-driven" education system.

While speaking at International Mother Language Institute on Wednesday, Abrar emphasized the need for everyone to rebuild the nation with a sense of "responsibility and compassion."

''We now have an opportunity to rethink and create a fair society where all citizens are equal,'' he stated.

He also pointed out that children and young people should be allowed to "soar freely" so they can develop their potential by using their talents and abilities in their own way.

In his remarks about the future of madrasa education, Abrar reminded the audience that public institutions are funded by the people's money and urged that it be used effectively.

"Decisions need to be made about which sectors to invest in and how that investment will help us achieve our goals, and this should be decided through discussions at this seminar," he added.

He stressed that there must be clarity on the responsibilities of students, teachers, and the administration, as well as how to empower those involved in madrasa education.

Abrar also reflected on the "difficult times" during the tenure of the Awami League regime.

“We had forgotten that we were citizens. Cabinet ministers could not speak freely. We had all become subjects. A new society emerged through a student-people movement from that situation,” he concluded.
