Rail communications with Dhaka were restored after a three-hour disruption on Wednesday, caused by the derailment of two bogies of a container-laden train near Kamalapur Railway Station.

According to Mohammad Anwar Hossain, station master of Dhaka Railway Station, the incident occurred around 11:35 AM when the two bogies of a train coming from Chattogram veered off the tracks while entering Kamalapur Railway Station.

The derailment prompted authorities to halt train services, he said.

Train operations resumed on a single track at approximately 1:10 PM, and normal rail movement was fully restored by 2:30 PM after the derailed bogies were cleared from the tracks, added the official.
