Two persons were killed and nine others were injured in a road accident in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
The deceased were identified as Arfan, 23, son of Amirul, from Madhupur village in Baliadangi upazila, and Joyonto Roy, 29, son of Deena Ram, from Chairman Para in the same upazila.
According to police sources, the accident occurred at Lakhipur-Debadangi on the Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway around 8:00 PM on Tuesday in the area as a three-wheeler human hauler rammed into a stationary truck.
The accident killed human hauler passenger Roy on the spot and left 10 others injured with four in critical condition.
The injured were whisked off to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital as Arfan succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment there.
Three other critical injured patients, including a child, were sent to Rangpur Hospital for enhanced treatment.
Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidur Rahman confirmed the incident.
