UPDF activist shot dead in Khagrachhari

An activist of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot to death by miscreants in Khagrachhari's Matiranga on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the morning at Headmanpara of remote Taindong union bordering Matiranga upazila.
The dead was identified as Subi Tripura, 35, son of Basna Tripura, a resident of Headmanpara. His sister Tarapati Tripura was injured at that time.

UPDF district organizer Angya Marma said that Subi Tripura was killed on the spot in an ambush by miscreants on their ordinary workers. His younger sister was injured during the attack. He blamed Santu Larmar's JSS for the murder.

Matiranga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Tofiqul Islam Toufiq confirmed the matter.

He said that the police were sent the spot to recover the body.
