Without any prior notice, inter-district and long-route bus movement on the Bogura-Dhaka route has been suspended since Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday afternoon, an altercation took place between CNG-run auto-rickshaws and coconut traders at Mitali Pump area on the Bogura Station Road. When two leaders of Motor Workers Union tried to solve the matter, they were assaulted and stabbed.
Protesting the incident, no buses are being permitted to ply from Naogaon to Bogura from this morning.
While visiting at bus stands at Par-Naogaon area of the city around 11:30AM, there found no inter-district and long-route buses from Naogaon via Bogura were allowed to enter, causing immense sufferings to the commuters during this Eid time.
Some passengers were found to go Bogura by easybike getting no buses.
Moslem Uddin, a passenger, said, "I found no buses at the terminals as I have an emergency work in Bogura. Now, bound to rent an easybike with double fare to reach the destination. It is nothing but harassment to the public."
Naogaon Bus Owner Group general secretary Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury said, "For now, no buses will ply to Bogura and Dhaka from Naogaon via Bogura over stabbing the workers' leaders.
