A young man was reportedly stabbed to death over a previous enmity in Savar on Tuesday night.

The victim was Sultan Hossain Sagar, 22, son of Taslim Chowdhury of Majhirga village under Ramganj upazila in Lakshmipur. He worked for a dyeing house in the Savar's Dagarmora area.

According to police, a group of six to seven youths called him from his house and locked into an altercation over the previous enmity around 11:30 pm on Tuesday. At one point, the rivals stabbed him with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.

Later, locals took him to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Savar Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Jewel Mia said the previous enmity led to the killing and they were trying to arrest those involved with the murder.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
