Over hundred Chandpur Jatiya Party leaders, activists resign, seeking apology to nation

More than a hundred leaders and activists, including presidents and general secretaries of various committees, of Chandpur Matlab Dakshin Upazila Jatiya Party have resigned, apologizing to the nation led by General Secretary DM Alauddin.

The leaders and activists announced their resignations at a press conference at a local community center on Monday (March 17) afternoon.
Matlab Dakshin Upazila Jatiya Party General Secretary DM Alauddin, Municipal unit President Mohsir Sarkar, Jubo Samity President Babul Faraji, Nayergaon Union Jatiya Party President Abdul Quader, and more than a hundred leaders and activists from the upazila, municipality and union signed the resignation letter en masse.

In a written statement at the press conference, DM Alauddin said, "There is only one reason for resigning from Jatiya Party, this party supported the fascist government during the period of the fascist government. For which we feel guilty. For this, we are resigning, apologizing to the people. The committee has 151 members in the upazila. 90 percent of the leaders and activists have resigned from here. If we join a new party, we will all join the new party together for the sake of the country and for the development of the country."
