Lightning kills youth in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Mar 17: A young man was killed by lightning strike in Langadu Upazila of the district on Monday noon.

The deceased was identified as Jabed Ali, 20, son of Babul Hossain, a resident of Ward No. 6 Bogachatar Muslim Block area under Bogachatar Union in the upazila.

Local sources said that thunderbolt struck on Jabed at around 1 pm while he was working in a cropland in the area, which left him critically injured.

He was then rescued and taken to Langadu Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
