A Dhaka court on Monday placed former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan and his son Asibur Rahman on a four-day remand each in a case filed over killing a man during the July uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam passed the order after rejecting their bail petitions in the case.
Shafiul Alam, inspector of Anti-Terrorism Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, sought a five-day remand for each.

According to the prosecution, Rafiqul Islam was shot and injured during the July movement in the capital's Badda area on July 19. Later, he succumbed to his injuries.

Lutfur Rahman, maternal uncle of Rafiqul, filed a case on September 27.
