5-year child raped in Keraniganj, rapist youth held

A five-year-old child has been raped by a youth in the same area in Dhaka's Keraniganj.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment at One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Keraniganj police, however, arrested rapist Robin, 15 and he is now under police custody.

A relative of the child informed that Robin took the child on Sunday noon at a secular place tactfully while she was playing near her house at Noyabazar village and violated her there. When her parents came to know the matter, they rushed her at first to Mitford Hospital, later she was transferred to the DMCH at about 12:45AM on Monday.

The victim's father is still at Keraniganj Police Station as the doctors said the child will not be given proper treatment until the police come.
