Hizb ut-Tahrir member held in Dhaka

Police arrested an organiser of the banned outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir from the capital on Sunday.

The arrested was identified as Monayem Haider, 26, a publicist of the organization.
A team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended Monayem in a raid conducted in the city based on secret information, said a press release.

Police said that Monayem had been involved in spreading the organization’s ideology by creating fake Facebook pages under different names.

Legal action against him was underway.
