ACC begins probe into Sheikh Selim's graft allegation

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into corruption allegation of former MP from Gopalganj-2 constituency Sheikh Selim.

ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain confirmed the matter on Sunday at a press briefing in ACC headquarters in Dhaka's Segunbagicha.

He said that there are allegations against Awami League Presidium member Sheikh Selim of abusing his power and issuing work orders for tenders worth Tk 1,300 crore in different parts of the country by taking a commission of 10 percent to 15 percent from preferred contractors through various irregularities and corruption.
