2 siblings drown in pond in M'singh

Two siblings drowned in a pond in Mymensingh's Dhobaura upazila on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 3 pm in the Ranigaon village of the upazila's Sadar Union.
The deceased were identified as Shimu Akter, 9 and Nijum, 3, the daughter and son respectively of Emdadul Haque of Ranigaon village.

Al Mamun Khan, officer-in-charge of Dhobaura Police Station, said, "On Sunday afternoon, Shimu Akter went to the pond with her younger brother for bathing. They both fell into the water and died on the spot. Later, their relatives recovered the bodies."
