Dear Sir,
For a long time, there have been numerous complaints regarding the transit services of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, particularly from expatriate passengers arriving from Sylhet and Chattogram airports. These remittance warriors are often required to wait for five to eight hours for their connecting flights, with delays sometimes extending up to 10-12 hours. During this prolonged waiting period at the airport, there is an alarming lack of proper rest and service facilities. Complaints have surfaced that, despite being legitimate passengers, they face obstacles when attempting to use transit area facilities.
As part of their so-called hospitality, they are provided with substandard food, consisting of a small portion of chicken, half-cooked polao, and a mere 250ml bottle of water. What makes the situation even more disheartening is that they are not even provided with a proper place to sit and eat, forcing them to consume their meal while sitting on the floor.
Expatriate workers are the driving force of the country. Through their relentless hard work, they keep the economy running. It is truly disgraceful to subject them to such humiliation, negligence, and inhumane treatment. The relevant authorities must take immediate action to eliminate this mismanagement and ensure dignified transit facilities so that expatriates receive the respect and services they deserve in their own country.
