Dr. Anindita Dutt, daughter of former Awami League MP and Health Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Professor Dr. Pran Gopal Dutt, has left Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) under army escort after being confined by protesters.

She was later taken to her home, according to sources.
Dr. Ruhul Kuddus Biplob, personal secretary to the Vice-Chancellor of BMU, confirmed the incident on Sunday afternoon. He stated, "Dr. Anindita Dutt has been rescued by the army. She has likely been taken home."

Dr. Biplob clarified that Dr. Anindita had come to the university as a faculty member of the Radiology Department at the Cancer Building, dismissing rumors that she had visited for medical treatment.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Anindita was confined by a group of Chhatra Dal leaders and activists at the Cancer Building of BMU, where she works. The protesters accused her of being involved in a case related to an attack on students and activists on August 5.

Shahbagh Thana Chhatra Dal leader Rubel Ahmed claimed, "We received information around 7 AM that Pran Gopal's daughter had come to the office. There is a case against her related to an attack on students and activists before August 5. Based on the plaintiff's information, we came here and detained her. The Shahbagh police have been informed, and they will handle the rest."

BMU Vice-Chancellor Shahinur Alam commented on the situation, stating, "I heard that a group of students and activists gathered at the Cancer Building. After informing law enforcement, the police arrived, and an army team was also deployed."
