On Sunday, March 16, the country's main stock exchanges, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), saw positive movement in their indices as trading commenced.
According to DSE and CSE sources, by 10:30 AM, the DSE General Index (DSEX) had risen by 7 points to 5,232. The DSE Shariah Index and DSE-30 Index also increased by 1 point each, standing at 1,165 and 1,900, respectively. During this time, trading amounted to Tk 83.03 crore in shares and mutual fund units.
Among the companies traded, 163 saw their stock prices increase, 109 decreased, and 90 remained unchanged. The top 10 traded companies included Shinepukur Ceramics, BD Thai, Bashundhara Paper, Linde BD, Golden Harvest, Square Pharma, S Alam Steel, Energypac, Uttara Bank, and Hakkani Pulp.
At the CSE, by 10:30 AM, the CASPI index rose by 41 points to 14,619, with a total trading value of Tk 23 lakh. Out of the companies traded, 26 saw price increases, 5 saw decreases, and 7 remained unchanged.
