DU declares one-day closure to mourn death of  Prof Arefin Siddique

Dhaka University (DU) has announced a one-day closure on Sunday, in honour of its former Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr A A M S Arefin Siddique, who passed away on Thursday. The decision aligns with the university's long-standing tradition of paying tribute to its esteemed academics.

Confirming the closure, a DU spokesperson stated, "As a mark of respect for Prof Arefin Siddique's immense contributions, the university will remain closed for a day." In accordance with university customs, campus-wide announcements have been made regarding his funeral prayers, while condolence messages and special prayers at the central mosque have been arranged.
