Inqilab Mancha has called off its planned march towards Shaheed Minar and instead announced a new demonstration. The organisation will stage a 'Shahidee Rally' at Shahbagh on April 25, demanding justice for what it describes as historic massacres.
The announcement came from Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Usman Hadi at a gathering in Shahbagh on Saturday.
Hadi declared that the rally, set for Friday (April 25), at 3 pm, will call for accountability regarding the July, Pilkhana, and Shapla massacres, alongside demands of banning Awami League.
"The parents of the July martyrs, the parents of the Shapla martyrs, and the children of the Pilkhana martyrs will be present," he stated. Warning opponents, he added, "If Laki Akter and her group attempt to stand anywhere before that, we will resist them along with the students and the public."
Accusing political opponents of destabilising the nation, Hadi claimed, "Those who facilitated the rise of fascism at Shahbagh must be arrested and punished immediately." He alleged that the Awami League is funding efforts to create unrest and manipulate international perceptions.
