The holy month of Ramadan holds 30 unique blessings, with each fast carrying its own virtue. Today, we explore the significance of the 14th fast and its associated supplication.
According to Hadith, it is stated that on the Day of Judgment, those who observe the 14th fast of Ramadan will have their reckoning made easy.
Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to recite specific supplications during Ramadan. These supplications are recorded in the books Al-Baladul Amin and Misbahul Kaf'ami.
Dua for the 14th Fast:اللّـهُمَّ لا تُؤاخِذْني فيهِ بِالْعَثَراتِ، وَاَقِلْني فيهِ مِنَ الْخَطایا وَالْهَفَواتِ، وَلا تَجْعَلْني فيهِ غَرَضاً لِلْبَلایا وَالاْفاتِ، بِعِزَّتِکَ یا عِزَّ الْمُسْلِمينَ
Translation:"O Allah! On this day, do not hold me accountable for my mistakes. Forgive my faults and missteps. Do not let me be a target of calamities and misfortunes. By Your honor, O the Honor of the Muslims!"
Additional Teachings on Ramadan:
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) said: "When the first night of Ramadan arrives, the devils and rebellious jinn are chained. The gates of Hell are closed, and none of them are opened, while the gates of Paradise are opened, and none of them are shut."
Moreover, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA) narrated a Hadith in which the Prophet (SAW) said:
_Paradise is adorned for Ramadan from the beginning of the year until the next. On the first day of Ramadan, a special breeze from beneath the Divine Throne flows through the trees of Paradise towards the celestial maidens (Hoor). They pray, "O Lord, grant us spouses from among Your servants who will bring delight to our eyes and whom we will bring delight to in return."_
May Allah grant us the ability to observe the fasts of Ramadan with sincerity and devotion.
