Seven robbers held in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Mar 14: Police arrested seven suspected robbers along with indigenous weapons from different places of Shahjadpur Upazila in the district on Thursday.

The arrested persons are: Moazzem Hossain, 50, Mishat, 26, Mukta Sarker, 30, Abdul Latif, 42, Chand Mia, 55, Sobahan, 60 and Alam 42.They are residents of different districts in the country.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahjadpur Police Station Aslam Ali said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the law enforcers conducted separate drives at different areas in the upazila and arrested them.

Police also recovered some indigenous weapons from their possessions.

Later on, the arrested were sent to jail following a court order, the OC added.
