The holy month of Ramadan carries immense spiritual significance, with unique virtues for each of its 30 days. As part of our special Ramadan series, today we present the blessings and supplication for the 13th fast.
According to a hadith, the 13th day of Ramadan grants protection from all hardships on the Day of Judgment. Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would recite specific supplications during Ramadan, which are documented in the books Al-Baladul Amin and Misbaha al-Kafami.
Supplication for the 13th Day of Ramadan:Arabic:اَللّـهُمَّ طَهِّرْني فیهِ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَالاَْقْذارِ، وَصَبِّرْني فیهِ عَلى کائِناتِ الاَْقْدارِ، وَوَفِّقْنی فیهِ لِلتُّقى وَصُحْبَةِ الاَْبْرارِ، بِعَوْنِکَ یا قُرَّةَ عَیْنِ الْمَساکینَ
Translation: "O Allah! Purify me on this day from filth and impurities. Grant me patience to endure whatever has been decreed. Bestow upon me the ability to attain piety and be in the company of the righteous. O Comforter of the needy, assist me with Your divine support."
Additional Hadith on the Virtues of Ramadan: According to Abu Huraira (RA), the Prophet (PBUH) said: "When the first night of Ramadan arrives, the devils and rebellious jinn are chained, the doors of Hell are closed, and none of them remain open. Meanwhile, the gates of Paradise are opened, and none of them remain closed."
Furthermore, a hadith narrated by the esteemed companion Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA) states that the Prophet (PBUH) mentioned: "Paradise is adorned from the first day of the year in anticipation of Ramadan. On the first day of Ramadan, a gentle breeze flows under the divine throne towards the Houris (heavenly maidens), and they call upon their Lord, asking for righteous spouses from among His servants who will bring them joy, just as they will bring joy to their spouses."
As Ramadan continues, believers are encouraged to maximize their prayers, charity, and devotion to reap the immense blessings of this sacred month.
