Four minors drown in Bogura, Jashore

Four minor children drowned in separate incidents in two districts - Bogura and Jashore.

BOGURA: Two children drowned in a pond in Sherpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place in Suvli Uttar Para Village under Khanpur Union of the upazila at around 3 pm.

The deceased were identified as Rabiul, 4, son of Rasheduzzaman, and Samiha Khatun, 6, daughter of Idris Ali, residents of the village.

It was known that the two children were playing beside their houses in the afternoon. At one stage, they fell in a pond there.

Local people then rescued Samiha at around 4 pm and rushed to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Later on, Rabiul's body was also recovered from the pond.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station (PS) Shafiqul Islam confirmed the incident, adding the bodies were handed over to the deceased's families following legal procedures.

JASHORE: Two minor children drowned in separate incidents in Abhaynagar Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

A girl drowned in a pond in Buikara Village of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Ruksana, 10, daughter of Jahangir Hossain of the area.

The deceased's family sources said Ruksana drowned in a pond in the area. Later on, her family members recovered the body.
Meanwhile, a minor boy also drowned in a pond in the upazila on the same day.

The deceased was identified as Ariyan Hossain, 2, son of Mehedi Hasan, hailed from Sadar Upazila in Magura.
Abhaynagar PS OC Abdul Alim confirmed the incidents.
