KAMPS observes 'World Kidney Day-2025' in a befitting manner

Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevent Society (KAMPS), a voluntary and not for profit organizationon Thursday observed the World Kidney Day 2025 with due importance through various programs.

As part of the day-long programs, chalked out by KAMPS, the organization brought out colorful rally and held street meetings at different points.
Beginning from the city’s Mohammadpur area, the KAMPS rally paraded different parts of the city including Dhanmondi, and adjacent areas. During the rally they also held street meetings at different areas, they paraded.

KAMPS Chairman, Prof Dr. MA Samad led the rally while representatives from different trend of professions in the society including teachers, doctors, businessmen, artists, students and a good number of youths participated in the rally.

While addressing the street meetings, KAMPS Chairman, also the Chief Consultant of the Department of Nephrology, Prof. MA Samad stressed need to formulate national program to raise awareness across the country aiming to prevent the kidney diseases.

He highlighted needs to undertake insurance scheme named ''Kidney Protection Insurance'' for ensuring treatment to all who are suffering from fatal kidney diseases.

''Diabetes, High Blood Pressure are mainly blamed to act as main reason for kidney disease and all these are considered as silent killers but these diseases could be prevented through raising awareness among people very effectively'', he added.

''Currently, kidney disease is known to be pandemic in the world. It is a silent killer disease. Kidney disorder treatment is extremely expensive; therefore, awareness should be given priority to prevent kidney diseases and to ensure life with healthy kidney,'' he said.

As part of spreading treatment facilities for the kidney patients at the rural parts of Bangladesh KAMPS has so far established dialysis centers in Tangail's Ghatail and Shakhipur; Chandpur; Madaripur; Jhenaidaha; Nawabganj districts.

All the units under KAMPS have also brought out rallies at the respective areas and also organized learning and awareness sessions marking the day, aiming to prevent kidney diseases through raising awareness among the local people.
