Woman killed in Rangamati road mishap

A woman was killed and her husband injured in a road accident near Bangalhalia Police Camp in Rajasthali upazila in Rangamati district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Chigni Chakma, 60, wife of Suresh Chandra Chakma, a resident of Pankata Para village under Jurachhari upazila of the district.

The accident occurred around 3.30 pm when a truck hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw from opposite direction, leaving CNG passengers Chigni Chakma dead on the spot and her husband injured, said Imrul Hasan, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Chandraghona Police Station.

The injured was taken to Chandraghona Christian Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
