Passenger held with gold worth Tk 50 lakh in Ctg

National Security Intelligence (NSI) arrested a passenger along with 400 grams of gold at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Wednesday morning.

The arrested was identified as Shahin Alam Mamun, a resident of Rangamati district.
According to airport sources, the passenger reached Chattogram Airport from Jeddah by a flight BG-136 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. A team NSI, on suspcion, detained him while he was crossing the Customs Green Channel of the airport.

NSI also recovered 400 grams of gold (22 carats) from his possession. The market value of the gold is Tk 50 lakh 69 thousand 2 hundred.

The gold was deposited to the airport customs.
