Bangladesh is likely fall into a trap of 10-day holiday during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.

The officials and employees of government, semi-government and autonomous authorities are likely to enjoy leaves of 11 consecutive days from March 26 to April 5 during the Eid-ul-Fitr, if they take an extra two-days (March 27 and April 3) leave.

Same time, on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, all the officials and employees government, semi-government and autonomous institutions will receive their March salary in advance on March 23, according to the decision of the government.

Confirming this information of advance salary, Ministry of Finance's Senior Assistant Secretary (Treasury Management Wing) Abdul Gafur said that a notification in this regard has already been issued from the Treasury Management Wing.

According to the official calendar-2025, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 31 (Sunday), subject to the sighting of the moon.

Therefore, the government has decided that all the officials and employees working in government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, commissioned/non-commissioned officers of the military will be paid their salaries and allowances for the month of March 2025 and the retirement allowance for the month of March to retired pensioners on March 23.

According to the Public Administration Ministry officials, the 11-day holiday would be started from March 26, the Independence Day, which would be Wednesday. Giving a break of a day - Thursday, the two-day weekend of Friday and Saturday will be started.
