SIRAJGANJ, Mar 9: In the last one month, 52 people were arrested by Devil Hunt team in the district.
On Saturday this information was confirmed by Md Ahsanujjaman, DIO-2 of District Special Branch (DSB) in Sirajganj.
The 'Devil Hunt' operation started since February 9, and, till March 7, 10 drives were conducted arresting 52, and cases were filed with police stations (PSs).
The arrested included 18 persons in Ullapara PS, six each in Rayganj and Shahzadpur, five in Tarash, four in Sadar, three each in Kazipur, Kamarkand and Belkuchi, and two each in Solonga and Enayetpur PS.
Officer-in-Charge of Ullapara PS Rakibul Islam said, "We are conducting drive regularly in order to control law and order and arrest criminals."
The arrested persons included former upazila and union chairmen, Poura councillors, upazila, union, and ward Awami League leaders and activists.
