A woman has given birth to quadruplets—three girls and one boy—at a hospital in Jashore.

The news of the rare birth escalated quickly on Friday through social media.

According to locals, Sumaiya Akter Swety, wife of Modasser Ali Tarafdar, a resident of Shutia village in Chuadanga district, was admitted to Jashore Ad-din Sakina Medical Hospital on Thursday.

She gave birth to the quadruplets via caesarean section in the afternoon, three years after her marriage.

Modasser Ali, expressing his joy, said, "Having four children at once is a matter of joy for me. My family and I are delighted as well. We, as a middle-class family, have concerns, but I hope my children will have a good life," he added.

Doctor Manjuara Khatun, a physician at the hospital, said that both the mother and newborns are in good health. They are in stable condition but require special care, she added.
