Ex-BNP leader stabbed dead in Chuadanga over TCB rice distribution brawl

A former BNP leader was hacked to death during a clash between two factions in Chuadanga's Sadar upazila on Saturday over distribution of TCB commodities.

Deceased Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, 50, was the former organising secretary of Titudoho union of the upazila.

Eyewitnesses said an altercation took place among the supporters of Titudoho BNP president Milon Miah, general secretary Abul Hashem Toton and Rafiqul Islam over distribution of 10 kg VGF rice.

At one stage, the followers of Milon Miah and Abul Hashem beat up Rafiq. Later both feuding group chase eachother.

Milon Miah and Abul Hashem's supporters stabbed Rafiq indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.

Suepritendent of Chuadanga police Kahndaker Golam Maula confirmed the death news.

"Our investigation team is on the spot," he added.
