World Wildlife Day observed in Natore

A colorful procession and road meeting were held in Natore's Singra on the occasion of the World Wildlife Day with the theme of 'Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet'.

The program was organized on Monday by the local environmental organization Chalanbil Biodiversity Conservation Committee and the Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation (BBCF) Central Committee.
The procession started in front of the upazila administrative building at 12 pm and after parading the streets, a road meeting was held at Aam Chattar of the town chaired by Professor Akhtaruzzaman, President of Chalanbil Biodiversity Conservation Committee, and conducted by General Secretary Saiful Islam. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Golam Rabbani Sardar addressed the gathering as the chief guest.

At that time, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, Social Service Officer Abu Daud, Election Officer Anisur Rahman, Primary Education Officer Ali Ashraf, Livestock Extension Officer Habiba Akter, Vice President of the organization and Executive Director of PKSS Daisy Ahmed, Organizing Secretary Professor Harun Or Rashid, Headmaster of Singra Model Government Primary School Saidur Rahman, Senior Journalist Sharful Islam, General Secretary of Upazila Press Club Abdur Rashid, Joint Secretary of the organization Hasibul Hasan, Treasurer Abu Bakr Siddique, Teacher Abdul Malek, were present at the programme, among others.

The speakers at the roadshow called for raising awareness about the biodiversity and wildlife conservation of Chalanbil and for everyone to come forward.
