The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a further decrease in gold prices, lowering the rate by Tk2,403 per bhori.
As a result, the price of 22-carat gold is now set at Tk150,967 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from Tk153,370, according to a press release.
The revised prices would come into effect on Friday.
This is the second price reduction in February, following five consecutive price hikes earlier in the month.
According to BAJUS, the updated gold prices per bhori, effective from Friday, are as follows: 21-carat gold: Tk144,097, 18-carat gold: Tk123,510, Traditional gold: Tk101,722, Silver prices remain unchanged. The rates per bhori are:
22-carat silver: Tk2,578, 21-carat silver: Tk2,449, 18-carat silver: Tk2,111, Traditional silver: Tk1,586
Previously, Bajus had reduced gold prices on February 23, which took effect on February 24. These prices were in place until the latest adjustment.
