DNCRP fines 2 shops in Pirojpur

Pirojpur district Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined two shops Tk 7,000 for selling expired products and making sweets in an unhygienic environment at Kawkhali upazila in Pirojpur district.

Pirojpur district DNCRP conducted a raid at Kawkhali South and North markets in the upazila.

The drive was led by DNCRP Assistant Director Debashish Roy. A team of police from Kawkhali Police Station were also present during the raid.

It is reported that DNCRP conducted the raid as a regular part of monitoring the quality of products in the market. During the operation, South market's Ma Mistanna Bhandar was fined Tk 2,000 and Satkhira Ghosh Dairy was fined Tk 5,000 for various offences under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.

Meanwhile, most of the shopkeepers in the market closed down their shops after hearing the news of the DNCRP's operation.
