Police arrested 21 leaders and activists of Awami League (AL), Jubo League and banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the last 24 hours from different places across Chattogram Metropolitan as part of the nationwide Operation Devil Hunt.
A press release, issued by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Public Relations Department, confirmed the matter on Sunday.
The arrestees are Nur Mohammad, 41, Abdul Ali alias Badsha, 19, Md Rasel, Mosharraf Hossain, 35, Rana Kanti Dev, 25, Sagar Mia, 23, Masum Rahman, 32, Md Mabud alias Ledu, 26, Shawon Ahmed, 28, Sumon Das, 39, Md Solaiman, 35, Md Faruk, 33, Md Aslam, 45, Abul Kalam Rajan, Md Jewel, 29, Isha Akhter, 30, Mizanur Rahman, 30, 31, Md Alamgir, 45), Md Ibrahim, 50, Jahidul Islam alias Emon, 21, and Ahmed Nur, 49.
They are accused in several cases including July Mass Uprising case, the release said.
