Three murdered in Bagerhat, Khulna, Sirajganj

Three people including a woman were murdered in separate incidents in three districts - Bagerhat, Khulna and Sirajganj.
BAGERHAT: A local leader of BNP, who was injured in a fractional clash between two groups in Kachua Upazila of the district, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Popular Hospital on Thursday.
Deceased Shawkat Hossain, 50, was the general secretary of the newly formed committee of BNP in Ward No. 7 under Dhopakhali Union in Kachua Upazila.
It was known that a fraction of BNP led by Afzal Hawlader attacked on Shawkat Hossain and his supporters on February 11 last centring a feud over the union BNP meeting. At least 15 people including Shawkat were critically injured at that time.
Injured Shawkat was taken to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital first and then, taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
Later on, he was shifted to Dhaka Popular Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday while undergoing treatment for nine days.
However, the law enforcers arrested three people in connection with the incident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kachua Police Station (PS) Md Rashedul Islam confirmed the matter on Friday.
KHULNA: A salesman of a private company was hacked to death by miscreants in the city on Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 11 am in front of a high raise commercial building at Sonadanga Bypass area in the city.
The deceased was identified as Md Al Amin, son of Md Aiyub Ali Sheikh, hailed from Bagerhat District.
It was known that miscreants attacked on Al Amin in the area and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to the KMCH morgue for an autopsy.
Sonadanga PS OC Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to identify and arrest the accused through CCTV footage.
SHAHJADPUR, SIRAJGANJ: A woman was murdered by her husband in Shahjadpur Upazila of the district on Thursday.
The incident took place in Madhyapara Village under Kayempur Union of the upazila early in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Rumana, 22, wife of Shohag, a resident of Madhyapara Village. She was the daughter of Motahar Hossain of Chhontala Village in Ullapara Upazila.
Police and local sources said that Rumana got married with Shohag, son of Afsar Ali, about a year back.
On Thursday morning, the blood-stained body of Rumana was found by locals. The body bore several injury marks on its different parts including throat.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and arrested the deceased's husband.
The deceased's husband confessed of killing Rumana during the primary interrogation.
Shahjadpur PS OC Aslam Ali confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken in this regard.
