Police arrested 12 individuals including Awami League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders in last 24 hours at Savar area in the capital under nationwide Operation Devil Hunt.
110 people have been arrested so far under Savar and Ashulia police stations.
Dhaka district Savar circle Additional Superintendent of Police Shahinir Kabir confirmed the information at a press conference organized at Savar Model Police Station on Thursday.
Police arrested the accused over attack in July uprising from different places across Savar and Ashulia area.
In the press conference Additional Superintendent of Police Shahinur Kabir said that they have been arrested on charge of destabilizing the country through social media, extortion and anti-discrimination activities by conducting Operation Devil Hunt.
Police official also added that among the arrested, BCL leader Sabbir has allegations of firing at students during the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement.
The arrested have been produced before court with a 7-day remand application, the police official added.
