A 2-year-old boy drowned at Borai River in Natore’s Bagatipara upazila on Thursday.

The drowned incident took place around 11:30 AM at Bashbaria village in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rafi, son of Minzanur Rahman, a resident of the same village in the upazila.

According to locals, Rafi’s mother went out leaving him home with his grandmother. He slipped into the river next to his home and drowned.

Some workers found Rafi floating and shouted. Later, locals rescued him from the spot and took him to Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
