Woman 'stabbed dead by husband' in Sirajganj

A woman was reportedly stabbed to death by her husband in Sirajganj's Shahjadpur upazila on Thursday.

The incident took place early in the morning at Murutia village under Kayempur union of the upazila.
In the incident, police have arrested the accused husband Sohag Sheikh, 28, son of Afsar Pramanik of that village.

Locals said that there had been a dispute between the husband and wife and they often quarreled. The murder may have been committed due to these issues.

Shahjadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aslam Ali confirmed it and said that the accused was arrested at the spot. He confessed to killing his wife by stabbing her during the initial interrogation. Preparations for a case against him are underway.
