At least two individuals were injured as clashes erupted between rivals of Anti-Discrimination Students Movement (ADSM) at Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore district on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at an educational institution in the upazila over an altercation following a comment on social media app Facebook.
The injured youths are Fuad Hosain, 20, son of Siraj Biswas and Siam Hosain, 18, son of Liton Mollah, residents of Nawapara municipality under the upazila.
According to locals, recently two separate Facebook group activated related to ADSM. The members of those groups were raising various complaints against each other.
Following the virtual altercations, an alleged Fuad taunted another Rakib Patwoari which fuelled the clashes. Later, they both injured and took to the Upazila Health Complex.
After treatment, one group later trying to attack Rakib and locals apprehended them.
Abhaynagar Police Station officer-in-charge Md Abdul Alim confirmed the incident and said compliant has yet to be lodged in this regard.
