Jubo Dal leader shot in N’ganj, one held

A local Jubo Dal leader was shot and sustained injuries over a land dispute at Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj district on Wednesday.

Police have arrested an accused following the incident.

The injured man is Rasel Ahmed, 33, son of Ramjan Ali, a resident of Bholanathpur village in the upazila.

The arrested man is Sohel Miah, 25, a resident of the same upazila.

The incident took place at Teknoadda area under Rupganj upazila in the afternoon.

According to locals, the clash erupted between two rivals over a land dispute. At one stage, the victim was shot on his right leg and sustained injuries.

Later, he was rescued and admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.

Following the incident, a case has been filed with Rupganj Police Station.

The police station officer-in-charge Liakot Ali confirmed the incident.
