Career Fest held at Islamic University

A day-long Career Fest was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday aiming to provide young talents with unparalleled opportunities for skill enhancement and explore career advancement.

IU Career Club, a voluntary organization, organized the event, at Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university around 11:30 AM.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah addressed the event as the chief guest while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Yeaqub Ali spoke here as special guest.

Presided over by IUCC president Roni Saha, Khairul Alam, a reputed math teacher in the country and also the authors of Khairul's Basic and Bank Math, writer and career consultant Rabiul Alam Luipa (BCS cadre), CEO of job preparation platform 'Career Map' Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Wazidur Rahman, Kushtia Regional Head of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd. Shah Md. Abu Almgir Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of HR Perception Siraj Uddin Chowdhury Rubel and Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank Sheikh Mehedi Hasan spoke in the fest.

Addressing the career fest, the speakers said that you must always dream big. To fulfill your dreams, you need to have the mindset to work hard. The beginning of job preparation might be tough, but you should not give up. You need to analyze the question patterns and prepare accordingly. You must excel in the subjects you are good at and focus more on improving your weaker areas.

The speakers advised the students not to be disheartened by failures and to continue striving to achieve their goals. To excel in the corporate sector, alongside academic studies, students must focus on skill development. They emphasized the importance of communication skills, presentation style, analytical abilities, and building connections with people. Networking with professionals in various sectors can be advantageous in job searching. They also encouraged students to think openly when facing any challenges.
