Jessore Detective Branch (DB) have arrested 14 alleged members of a robber gang with robbed goods from several districts.
The arrested are Hira Rahman, Bijoy Hosain, Sohel, hailing from Narayanganj, Alamgir Hosain, Jowel Matubbar, hailing from Madaripur, Robin Mollah, hailing from Keraniganj, Nazrul Islam, Amir Hosain, Jahid, Alamgir Sheikh, Bablu Rahman, hailing from Munshiganj, Rakib, hailing from Narsingdi, Yunus, hailing from Shariatpur, Nizam Uddin, hailing from Noakhali and Abdul Kader, hailing from Faridpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, Jessore DB conducted several drives in different districts and arrested the accused.
During the drive, DB also seized 67 pieces battery of auto-rickshaws, 2 pickup vans, 44 oxygen cylinders, 110 gas cylinders and a truck with tyres.
Jessore District Police Superintendent Nur-E-Alam Siddique confirmed the drives in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, an alleged robber group stole in an auto-rickshaw showroom in Jessore. Following the incident, the district police conducted several drives last weeks and arrested them.
