IU holds PhD seminar on 'Press Freedom'

A Ph.D. seminar titled “Introduction to the Right to Freedom of Press in Bangladesh” was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday afternoon.

Organized by the Department of Law, the event took place at the seminar room on the first floor of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Building.

The seminar commenced at 11:30 AM, with Professor Dr. Khandaker Tawhidul Anam, Dean of the Faculty of Law, as the chief guest. Special discussants included Professor Dr. Hasibul Alam Prodhan and Professor Dr. Rofiqul Islam from Rajshahi University’s Department of Law, who shared their comments and corrections on the Ph.D. topic.

Associate Professor Dr Abdul Karim Khan and Professor Dr Rehena Parvin, from Department of Law of IU, were discussed the title as chief discussant while the chairman of the department, Professor Dr Halima Khatun, was the chairperson of the seminar.

During the seminar, Ph.D. fellow PM Sirajul Islam presented his research article under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shahjahan Mondol from the Department of Law. Besides them many teachers from law faculty along with other departments were present there.
