On Wednesday morning, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened with a decline, while the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) saw a rise in its overall index during the first hour of trading.
On the fourth trading day of the week, DSE’s main indices—DSEX, the Shariah-based DSES, and the blue-chip DS30—all experienced a drop of 1 point each.
In addition to the index decline, most companies on the DSE saw a decrease in share prices. Within the first hour, the stock prices of 148 companies fell, while 110 saw gains, and 98 remained unchanged.
The total turnover at the DSE exceeded Tk 120 crore within the first hour of trading.
In contrast, the CSE saw a rise of 15 points in its overall index. Out of the 70 companies traded, 33 experienced price increases, 25 faced declines, and 12 saw no change.
The first-hour turnover at the CSE surpassed Tk 1.20 crore.
