Md Jahangir Alam, who was sent to forced retirement from Planning Commission due to serious allegations, has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
He is an accused in an ACC case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police's DB chief Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed the arrest on Tuesday morning, but was not confirmed about which case he was shown arrested as he faces multiple charges.
A team od DB arrested him from Dhaka early Tuesday.
The interim government sent him forced retirement after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, last year. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding his retirement on October 27, 2024.
He tried to leave the country with his wife. But getting secret information, DB team arrested him.
